The EAGLE IV Wood Burning Furnace features 220 pounds of 2-inch thick high-temperature firebrick, 18 inches high. The firebrick not only protects the firebox steel from the extreme combustion temperatures, it retains a substantial amount of heat after the wood/coal fire burns down.
